       School of Social Sciences
I am honoured to welcome you to School of Social Sciences (SOSS). The school is currently offering three programmes comprising of BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies (International) 3+0 in collaboration with Teesside University, United Kingdom (BEC), Diploma in Islamic Early Childhood Education (DCE) and Diploma in Contemporary Islamic Sciences (DIC).

BEC's students would develop relevant and specialist knowledge within sociology, psychology, education, health, legislation and policy in theoretical and practical skills that can be applied to leading early years' practice, supporting learning and further training in various disciplines including social work, nursing and teaching. These include child development, understanding how practitioners support children's learning and language development, and developing transferable professional skills.

DCE's students would be prepared with theoretical knowledge and hands-on activities to enable them to acquire skills in nurturing children and managing childcare centre. They also contribute professionally towards the early childhood industry.

Students of DIC would integrate between Islamic sciences and other skills in learning, which include Islamic studies courses and a selection from professional fields like business administration, Islamic banking and finance and information technology.

As such, we provide a lifelong learning which integrates between the worldly knowledge and the knowledge of the hereafter in activity. The school consists of highly trained lecturers dedicated towards achieving its mission and vision. The dynamism of the programmes offered by SOSS provides a golden opportunity that enable students to broaden their scope of understanding in the society that they live in. It is expected that SOSS graduates will be able to contribute significantly to the advancement and enrichment of their own lives and to the community at large.
