Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning for Access (APEL.A) is defined as a systematic process that involves the identification, documentation, and assessment of prior experiential learning, ie., knowledge, skills, and attitudes, for admission/access into a programme of study under the various Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF) levels.

APEL.A provides opportunities for those who have work experience but lack qualifications or no academic qualifications to continue their studies at Higher Education Institutions. In general, APEL.A assessment involves assessing the knowledge acquired by a person through formal education or through previous experience.
