The Diploma in Computer Science (DCS) programme aims to produce graduates with competitive knowledge, principles and skills in a career in Computer Science related field or further their academic pursuit in degree programmes. Through Diploma in Computer Science (DCS), students will also develop computing knowledge in programming, database, data modelling and software implementation. Diploma in Computer Science (DCS) graduates will be prepared to work in a broad range of positions involving task from theoretical work to software development and can adapt to innovations in ICT. Essentially, they are able to design and implement software, devise new ways to solve computing problems and manage organizational technology infrastructure.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- Possess SPM with at least THREE (3) credits in any subjects (inclusive of Mathematics or any equivalent qualification);
OR - A pass in Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with a minimum grade of C [Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) 2.00] in any subject or equivalent qualification and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent;
OR - A pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Maqbul (Pass) and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent;
OR - Possess SKM Level 3 and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent;
OR - A Certificate (Level 3, MQF) in any qualification with at least a CGPA of 2.00;
OR - A pass in any qualification equivalent to certificate (Level 3, MQF);
OR - Other relevant & equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government.
* A student has to acquire 92 credit hours to complete this programme.
Notes:
- Candidates with a pass in Mathematics at an SPM level or its equivalent may be admitted if the certificate programme contains subjects in Mathematics that are equivalent to Mathematics at SPM level.
- Candidates with a pass in Mathematics at SPM level and without a related certificate need to take a reinforcement Mathematics subject with appropriate topics in the discipline of Computing at the beginning of the study.
- Candidate with a credit in a Computing-related subject at SPM level or its equivalent may be given preferential consideration.

STUDY PATHWAY
Graduates students are able eligible for 39 credit hours transfer for Bachelor in Information Technology or Bachelor in Computer Science (International Islamic University Malaysia) or they could further their studies at any public and private institution of higher learning locally or abroad.
CAREER PROSPECT
Diploma in Computer Science holders are needed in both private and public sector. There are many career opportunities available for graduates of this programmes since most organizations require IT personnel. A computer science graduate has a wide range of job designations to choose from. Among the many designations that may be filled by the graduates are; Web Designer, System analyst, Database Administrator, Software Developer, Programmers and other related posts.
